武侯祠 (Wǔ hóu cí)The Wu Hou Temple

Also known (for some strange reason as the Temple of Marquis). This in not just a temple but also a shrine to the three great generals of the Shu Country during the Era of the Romance of the Three Kingdoms. Anyone who played the game Dynasty Warriors as a kid (or an adult), has knowledge of the Chinese History, or has read the Romance of the Three Kingdoms will appreciate this place exponentially. This temple is also a shrine to General Liu Bei, General Guan Yu and General Zhang Fei. They were the three sworn brothers of the Shu Country in the Romance of the Three Kingdoms. There are also statues and depictions of several other high ranking soldiers from that time such as Ma Chao, Zhu Ge Liang, Zhao Yun and etc.
In the past Cheng Du was the capital of the Shu Country and for that reason this temple was made in memory of the three great generals of Shu Country. This temple is also adjacent to a walking street with lots of food vendors. So, as soon as you finish exploring the temple you can take a stroll and grab a bite to eat.
How to get there?
Wu Hou Temple is located very near the city center. A quick cab ride can take you there without costing much money at all.
How much time should you allot to spend here?
Between the temple and the walking street it could all be done in a few hours (3 hours more or less). So, this temple can be seen in tandem with another site on the same day.
I love pandas! I heard that people can hold pandas and take pictures for about three minutes, but need to pay a fortune. Any information on that part?

Yes, you can hold the pandas in the Panda Research Center. It’ll cost about 2000 RMB per person. I didn’t do it personally but I’ve heard that you don’t get to hold the baby panda for very long. Something close to a minute and then you have to give it back to the staff.
